I prefer a shelter to escape the bugs, and I have found that at daisy farm especially, the moose move in at night and sleep close tot he shelters. thanks everyone for replies. We leave saturday and I am excited to get back to nature. I insist on me time and its coming not fast enough. For a first we are going to try the canoeing if we can rent one, and hang out on beaver island. I actually think we have too much food packed this time.

Thanks John, We plan to start at windigo and head to feldtman lake, then siskwit bay, then I would like to bypass island mine and head for s desor, and return and do the loop by huginnin cove and then canoe to one of the islands and stay a night. Have you hiked this end? any pointers? I know at time...

HI Here is my 2 cents on food. Oatmeal and poptarts, bring some dried strawberries, they weigh nothing. small baggie of brown sugar. Hey thanks, I will call and get one. The few times we have made it to copper harbor we drove all night 8 hours and arrived just in time to get on board. Needless to say the boat ride was something else, but if you add dramamine its dream land. Anyway thanks for info.

best suggestions I can give: oatmeal and hot chocolate foil pack tuna, save mayo and relish packets. Pita bread travels awesome. cheese and dried jerky Now, Mountain house meals are good. With our party of 3, we got by. You can enjoy them, and can bring other things like tortillas to toast on stove....

We will be arriving in grand portage to catch boat to island on sat august first. Can anyone tell me how much it is to stay at rydens, and do we need to make a reservation? the casino is 120 a night there
