Re: Minong Trail June 2011

Hey Andrew. It's Tim :) Were you the Andrew with a certain Steve that I saw on the trail in between Todd and Little Todd. Whom I also saw back at Windigo a couple of days later an hour before you left. I still aim on writing my trip report sometime this week, but have been taking care of somethings ...

If there is anyone that recently returned from their trip, please give us a bug update. Things have not be sounding good as of lately and I would love a last minute update. I w...

Re: Trip Report 8-5 to 8-13

I was wondering if you were going to encounter the leeches at McCargoe. You spoke of swimming at Moskey. I never saw leeches there, but when you said you were on your way to McCargoe and loved swimming after a long days hike, I was like NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! DON'T DO IT. Anyways glad you didn't get latch...

SeaBear Smoked Salmon Discount

Hey Guys, Lately I've been tasting a variety of backpacking foods to try to find some of the best food to eat while on the trail. I bumped into this place while doing a search, and thought some of the stuff looked really good, but I was hesistant on trying it due to the price. Turns out I wrote the ...

On A Mission, Can You Help?

I've tried a lot of different backpacking foods, but am still eager to try more for an upcoming trip I am taking at the end of August. Here are the categories of items I am interested in doing further research on: bars, dried fruits, trail mix/granola, energy chews and gels, jerky, and breakfast , l...

Re: Solo UL tent suggestion

It appears as thought it sold out. Oh well...so much for that idea. Anyways, I would go with one of your tarptent selections. Henry at tarptent is a great guy to deal with. I almost bought a tarptent, but wanting freestanding to be an option on my tent, so I decided not to. The 2 verisons that you l...

Re: Solo UL tent suggestion

http://www.departmentofgoods.com/msr-carbon-reflex-2-tent-2-person-3-season I love this tent in the three person version for my girlfriend and I. The two person version just is not enough space. If you want ultralight, then obviously the tarptent is the route to go. However, if you would something t...

Re: My packing list & weights

With regards to the followings answers that were given... 1. The slumberjack it a decent sleeping bag that does that trick, but there are plenty of down options out there that could save you at least 1lb of weight if not more. If your willing to go the route of a quilt, you could even probably cut y...

Re: My packing list & weights

Hey Blackdog, I have a handful of questions for you... 1. What kind of sleeping system do you have with regards to mattress, pillow, sleeping bag? 2. What does your two person tent weight? 3. Do you use water bottles or bladders? 4. How do you treat your water? 5. What type of stove and cooking syst...
