Re: Big Pike! ?

So far, I have caught my best quality (best avg size) and biggest pike right in McCargoe Cove. Chippewa harbor, Whittlesey and Wood are all loaded with pike also. All my trips have been early in the year.

Re: TR: 5/31-6/5 2013 [Hiking] Moskey-Ritchie-Cbone-Todd-Lan

I don't know why I always procrastinate posting my trip reports, but here goes..... May 30th. I met my buddy at the Chrysler dealer in Clarkston, MI since he needed repairs done and he wouldn't need his care for the week ahead. We got on the road about 7:30am and headed north. Before we knew it we w...

Re: Best method to provide fishing tips 'on the trail'

I suggest writing your message on toilet paper you bring and then hanging it in the outhouse. It's sure to eventually get disposed and you just might get the word out to someone in the mean time. Good plan! Like you said, I will use my personal stash of TP, so worst case, it provides an extra wipe ...

Great report! Thanks for sharing.

I always have a feeling of solitude as soon as I depart the immediate Rock Harobr area. I can't imagine the feeling you had being 'in town' and not seeing a single soul. Must have felt very, very odd.

Re: Current conditions on the island

The latest satellite photos show most of Siskwit and Moskey Basin is now open and it appears all the snow is gone. It's hard to tell, but looks like the other inland lakes only have a small amount of ice left. Yay!!

Re: Best method to provide fishing tips 'on the trail'

Most folks do quite a bit of research before going and the best place to exchange information would be on a forum like this or on Youtube. I agree 100%, but I was referring to 'real time' fishing tips/ reports from the very recent past. For instance, the intended recipient was already on the island...

Best method to provide fishing tips 'on the trail'

So, based on a conversation on another thread, I'm wondering what the best method would be to pass along information on fishing tips to fellow forum members and / or near future hikers. For instance, I find a certain location and / or lure that works well for me and I know a forum member will be arr...
