Update from 6-16 to 6-19

Just returned from isle 16th to the 19th, Duncan Bay was breath taking! The bugs were absent on the water and and scant around camp sites! The hiking trail and waters edge around portage trails is where they were most abundant but manageable! NO BLACK FLIES at ALL! I think early July is gonna be thi...

Re: End of May trip

Cheers for the heads up! Shit is getting thick down here around Grand Rapids, but we did have a run of mid 80's over the last week. I have yet to see the temps hit higher than mid to hi 60's on the isle! I'm with yous guys I'll be heading over from Copper Harbor on the 15th! And I'm hoping to dodge ...

Re: Itinerary for June 13-19, 2014

I had a similar problem with trying to contact the people in Kentucky via email, you have to call until you get someone? So instead of getting a taxi on the 16th of June I had to get it on the 17th which shaved a day off the island plan. We are grounded at R. Harbor on the 16th for an AM taxi. in th...

Mid June Fishing...

Does any one know what is hot on the line in mid June? I see the water temps are in the low 40's, any tips for a first timer heading to Duncan Bay?

Re: Portage from Rock Harbor to Duncan Bay

Any advice for canoeing with gear? I never actually had to paddle with gear in a boat other than a day pack, is there really any difference? Ingo or anyone with an opinion, which site did you prefer over the other, Duncun Narrows or Duncun Bay? Our group is looking at 4 days from the 16th of June to...

Re: Portage from Rock Harbor to Duncan Bay

Cheers for the insight, right now we are still weighting the options of where to go? Its looking like the weather in Mid June and the number of peep's heading out will determine the fate of the visit! Right now we got 4 in the group even-ing out the portage and for me personally just by the look on ...
