The park's primary radio system is VHF high band in the 160-174 range, and uses P25 digital modulation, but is conventionally repeated, not trunked. A surprising amount of current there in the Rock Harbor Channel.. As the winds blow, it forces water in and through the channel, shoving ice and such around. The little channel between Mott Island and East Caribou often looks more like a river than a lake. The current switches direction often though.
