IncaRoads you are correct that is Fisherman's Home Cove!

Unless you play elevation and directional antenna games you aren't going to get more than a mile or two unless you're on open water on the island in my opinion. The Park rangers HT's are using a repeaters/towers. Even a cheap Baofeng type handheld is really only useful for emergency Channel 16 marin...

Surely could be helped... there's no functional reason that that many seaplane need to be transporting people to/from the island. NPS should never have contractually allowed it IMO.

Won't pretent to be a fan of the noise polution it brings to the island on a daily basis.

I noticed they haven't released the updated 2024 backcountry camping zone exclusion map yet either.
