Will not be attending MTU alumni reunion, but hope to get up there again soon.
I am curious about the (Echinococcus granulosus) tapeworm. Would it be possible to eliminate this parasite with immunization of reintroduced wolves along
with their future offspring?

The Fridge is of the smaller variety, but coolers are just fine for additional cool storage.

Explored Cabins in 2010 and would expect amenities to be of equal now. The following pictures are from Cabin 13 and I would assume all are as.

Looks like a fantastic route/time to see the entire island. The Minong section will be the toughest/most scenic/less congested.

Re: Best canoe route from Siskiwit to RH?
You could paddle Superior from Siskiwit/Malone to Chippewa Harbor. If you don't feel comfortable you could always turn around; or once at Chippewa, you could continue around Saginaw Point or Portage to Richie. Its really all about the conditions. I have been on the Siskiwit with 1-2 foot waves and P...

I am not familiar with the history of that stretch of water. I would assume that a Tobin family was present and prevalent in that neck of the woods.Midwest Ed wrote:On a 1930's calendar related issue, this image popped up this week at Pasty.com. Once again, Tobin Harbor is referred to as Tobin's Harbor.

This next set of photos does not do justice the beauty of Isle Royale in the Spring. So a visit is necessary.

Re: suggestions for 16 day kayak trip
Rod, There is so much to explore In the three zone you will be traveling. The Five Fingers offers SO MUCH shoreline to paddle. I have always wanted to go beyond McCargo Cove and bushwhack to Otter and Beaver Lakes and paddle. Someday. An evening paddle on Chickenbone Lake usually produces a Moose ea...

I am in violation too. Porcupine Mountains is not a NP. Just ignore my posts. :? Too late, already admired and reminisced with your escarpment photos :) . Still want to return and rent the Big Carp 8 cabin some day. I remember one trip with my Dad. It was the second hardest hike I have ever had. Th...

I may be committing a topic taboo here, but would like to get to Canada's Woodland Caribou and Wabakimi. For my defense,
it was never stated that it had to be a U.S. park!

Re: [Info] Backcountry Zones
FYI, from experience, the park policy is to discourage backcountry permits intended for "place to crash because it is too far to the next campground". They are issued for the backcountry "experience" and not for trail-side tent plopping. Not sure if policy has changed recently, t...

His business card is in a collection of Isle Royale memorabilia. And yes, it is laminated.
