Re: Scoville Point Loop part of the best 100 miles in the NPS

Does anyone have access to the other 99 trails that are listed. If so could you post the link here?

Re: Shelters

I’d be willing to haul shelter supplies to the interior of the island if there was a team of people to do it with me and on that team there were people that had the skill knowledge to build the shelters. I love shelters :) On that note it would be nice if Hatchet Lake and Lake Richie had shelters.

Re: Minong in May?

Yes Hooky there is an AT trip report. The only thing is rather than writing out what each day was like, I voice recorded each day. It is several hours of recorded dialogue if you are interested in hearing it. I will be honest though, it is just too much for me to bear. I wanted to relive my trip las...

Re: Minong in May?

Pretty good. Thanks for asking hooky. How have you been hooky? Have you gone to the island at all lately? I forgot when the last time it was that I went. I have to have the rangers look it up next time I go to the island. I think it was in 2013 for my first canoeing trip. I Thur-hiked the Appalachia...

Re: Minong in May?

Tom and Kevin pretty much covered everything. I once went to the island prior to anyone being on it when the Ranger III was sending over scientists, equipment, and a ranger to kick off the preseason. It was very interesting, I did not see anyone for almost a full week. I did do the Minong like you a...

I like your hiking regiment. Looks good. If it were me I would not take the Rock Harbor Trail back on the final day instead I would take the Tobin Harbor Trail.

Re: IRNP to release 20-30 wolves over the next few years.

I still say they let things take their natural course. So it’s been a while since I’ve been on the forms or since I’ve had the opportunity to look what’s going on in the island. Are the wolves completely extinct on the island as of right now?

Hawk Vittles Dehydrated Food 50% off

Hello Everyone, About 2 months ago I purchased some dehydrated food from www.HawkVittles.com for a backpacking trip. Unfortunately my girlfriend and I never went on the backpacking trip we had scheduled. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone wanted to buy the items at 50% off. The items I have availa...

Anyone know if Ranger Seth will be back next year or why he wasn't on the island this year? I really liked him a lot!

Book Donation/Recycle

Hello Everyone, Hope you guys are doing well. Anyways I thought to myself, there are a million books out there on Isle Royale and I know we all like to read them when we can't make it to the island or during the winter season when the island is closed. However, where do your books go after you read ...

Life gets busy sometimes. Boy does it ever. Sorry I didn't back to you Matt. It was one of those things where I should have replied back to you as soon as I saw your message instead of saying "I'll write him back tomorrow morning." I am so glad you had a great time and that George shared ...

Re: Rookie Mistake

Well hopefully you haven't take the plane before and this will be an experience that was to eventually occur in the future, but instead it is just happening now. The only thing I would be concerned about is good weather. It is all I'd ever be concerned with if I anted up and paid the hihger rates fo...
