This is just one source of microplastics in the environment. One of the most egregious are the micro-beads used in cosmetics and soaps.

The first thing you need to do is decide is if you want to cook or just boil water. Many backpackers just boil water and pour it over prepackaged instant food. Others like to put on their chef hats and chop onions, mix ingredients, add spices and cook their dinners, at least partially, from scratch....
