Re: Nice Review on Water Filter

It must be a pain dragging your knuckles across those trails when you hike, too. :D I've used my filter for almost ten years without a problem. I even learned last year that that you can remove the handle by taking the clip off and use the underside of the handle to unscrew the filter (that was alwa...

Nice Review on Water Filter

http://www.paddling.net/Reviews/showReviews.html?prod=2325 I use this Hiker water purifier by Katadyn and have been really pleased with its performance. (Disclaimer: any similarity of this posting to those of JohnH is purely coincidental. I deny any affiliation to or appreciation of his postings! :t...

Re: Take This Off Your Fishing List

JP got in at 3 a.m. Sunday morning. The drive down 131 from Grand Rapids was the worst driving I've ever experienced. Blizzard conditions and white-outs. She has been "nesting" ever since. I've been cleared to walk, but only with a very stiff therapy "boot." I feel like Frankenst...

Re: New way to defend/treat against Giardia

Yea, JohnH used be in love with a girl named Ruth. But she left him. That's why he is Ruthless! (Big, big groan).

Re: New way to defend/treat against Giardia

Oh, you poor soul. JohnHitis? At least there is a treatment for Giardia. I read the article and it starts like this...."If you return from a trip abroad to find you have projectile vomiting, roaring flatulence, sulfurous belching and explosive diarrhea...." I didn't have to go abroad. This...

And, under Michigan Law, it is legal to kill a wolf under certain circumstances. Here is a link to the new Michigan Law:

Re: NPS to allow guns in National Parks

Nick, Most of what I have heard of involves illegal fires, no permits, rowdy boaters (in the past), people singing bad show tunes, thats about it. I don't recall any instances where there was anything close to violent behavior. It will be interesting to see what others come up with!!! The way I loo...

Re: 6 Wolves found dead in Wisconsin

Probably shot in self-defense. Another good reason for all of us to get CCW licenses. We better post those regulations in each pack's territory so that they are on notice and have time to get body armor! :!:

Re: NPS to allow guns in National Parks

I suppose that the Queen and VII, being private operations, could limit firearms on their vessels. I'm not so sure about the Ranger since it is part of the NPS and adopting that policy might be seen as a way for the NPS to circumvent the policy. Since all these vessels are common carriers, I am not ...

Yep, East Chickenbone. That's where I laid up in '03 with the bad knee. No shade, water 1/2 mile away. The only positive think was that I'd not met JohnH, yet. Et tu Brute!
