Re: New Park Regulations for Food Storage

Understood completely, been there done that, with the Rock Harbor "zoo". Just an observation; that after the initial, "I'm on Isle Royale", wears off, we should all strive to keep it as pristine as we possibly can. To enjoy in its' pristine state, for continued memories and pleas...

Re: New Park Regulations for Food Storage

The regulation (from pg 12) states: "... In the backcountry, all food, garbage, and scented items shall be sealed so as to prevent smells." That's apparently as far as it goes for the time being. I take it to mean "bring Ziplocks"! The whole place should be treated as, "in ...

Re: Route suggestions for first timers

As I recall, the camp at Mirror Lake, in the Porkies, has an open air throne; gotta love it! 8)

I'm pretty sure it is against regulations to take a sheepdog to the Isle.

Welcome!

Be careful of this guy.

Re: Water Level

Photos from Aug 2010, and Aug 2005 at Siskiwit Lake spill. Also, a lakeshore view of Aug 2010.

Of course, in the first two, you can see they are from opposing views, but, you get the idea.

Has anyone noticed/viewed the water level at this site this season? Report to share?

Re: Pictured Rocks!

Maybe, my Kodak Easy Share camera takes too large a photo?

Or, have I put the camera settings, on the wrong settings to take the correct size photo?

Re: Pictured Rocks!

Is there a better way upload photos, than to re-size all of them to fit in this boards format/size limits?

What am I missing?

Re: Submissions for PICTURE OF THE WEEK go here

This is me at Grace Creek overlook, taken by Jim DuFresne.

See a different one taken(see page 99), added to the 4th edition of: Isle Royale National Park, foot trails and water routes. :D
