We just finished packing the meals for our late August trip. Takes a while but it's nice to know what's in the meals (and the planning is fun). I'll post menu / itinerary under trip reports later.

Hmmmm. Mine must have been lost in the mail. I just talked to the lodge and they have my reservation so nothing more is needed. My dates were wrong, by the way. We're on the taxi on the 29th provided the weather cooperates.

Ahhh, we won't see you on the taxi then. Maybe on the trail. We'll be hitting the taxi when the Queen gets to Rock Harbor. We were told the taxi would leave shortly thereafter.

Just curious... did you get a ticket? We got a fee schedule in the mail a couple weeks ago but no ticket.

Not sure what time the taxi leaves on the 29th but we're scheduled for that day. Two younger girls along so say hola if we cross paths.

I wonder about clogging... and that's a bit pricey. That said, I've never used one...

Has anyone stayed at North Port Motel? We're bringing our girls and like the separate bedrooms in the doubles. The other motels don't seem to offer this and I don't want to rent a separate room (although we really like Bella Vista...).

Mountain Hardwear Stimulus rain hat - it inevitably rains when I'm on the island and keeping my glasses dry is important to me.

Couple other recommendations... Get a cinnamon roll at The Pines to take with you on the boat, and make a stop at Harbor Haus before you get out of town.

Ditto on East Chickenbone, although its location has been something of a positive for us... It is a good stopping point for bio break and snack when we are en route from McCargo Cove to Daisy Farm or Three Mile.

Josh - when are you going? We'll be on the island (via the Queen) Aug 28 - Sep 4.

I hand in my "man card" and use the powdered cappuccino mix. Not what I drink at home but it's passable. More importantly, it keeps my wife happy on the trail.
