As for the accident, shortly after I got the FZ5 I took it on a trip with my 4 brothers and Dad. Before we left all 6 of us all lined up with arms over shoulders for a picture--I was holding my camera ready to hand to someone else. Tricia bought the FZ18, nicer than mine. She is still in the learning curve. I am holding out for a DSLR when I get the $$$$.

We saw a mink at Daisy Farm. We were in the shelter you pass on the trail to the camp ranger's cabin. There is a set of steps going down to the water and we were sitting there and a mink came running along the shore and dissappeared into a brush pile. We were both surprised.

I use an Olympus Stylus 300 that is weather resistant and takes decent pictures as long as you are not looking to enlarge the pictures. There are lots of options with 5-6 megapixel cameras that have 5-6X zooms that will get you into the 200mm range of the 35mm format. There are lots of options, here...

I would worry more about being bombarded by red squirrels or the goshawks that nest near the Feldtmann Tower (if you go that way)

I have heard of folks getting a signal from the Greenstone at different places and being able to place a call. I would not count on it.

This is from the "Old" site. That should get you started.

There are map sites that as you move the cursor around will give you the coordinates for that position.
