Re: Water filter

I brought a Platypus gravity filter this trip. I also had my Basecamp filter (gravity) that uses a ceramic cartridge. We have been using this filter for a while and it has been reliable. I tried it at home ( helps to soak the cartridge) and it worked ok. Ran water through the cartridge ( new cartri...

Re: Moskey Milky

Great photo.

Was the lack of clear nights due to weather or did smoke from all the fires have an effect?

So many of our sunset all summer were hazy due to all the smoke in the atmosphere, so just curious what that did to your opportunities.

Re: Hatchet Lake

All I've seen mentioned is Intermediate, Chickenbone and Richie. That's all that are currently mentioned on the park's page too.

Re: 800 MHz radios

They use a trunked digital system in the 160-170MHz range. One can purchase a radio, but they can be expensive for a good one and then have to be programmed with their codes. It can be done though. I was just looking online and the cheap ones are in the $100 range. https://wiki.radioreference.com/i...

I'm unaware of any, nor would I advise it in such a remote place. YMMV though. Best of luck in the search.

How many shots did you take over the course of your trip?

What you've shared is simply out of this world good. Thanks!

Re: Horne Fire

I see snow is still on the Greenstone.

The imagery of all the fires going on right now is quite disturbing. The BWCA fires offer some perspective.

Ingo wrote: Mon Aug 09, 2021 8:42 am The store is open til 9/11. But supplies will be limited as they don’t reorder late in the season, especially perishables. Hard to say exactly what they may be out of though.
I still shed a tear when I think back to that day in September when I was so hopeful, but they were out of ice cream.

I'm in agreement with the advice you're getting from dcclark.

Re: 9/1-9/5 Windigo to RH Itinerary Help

I'd skip Daisy and pick up the Moskey route. Second choice would the Lane route.

I'm just a sucker for Moskey though.
