I saw that Rolf Peterson was listed in the May 2017 edition of Discover Magazine in an article titled "Hero's of Science". It is so great to see his work get that kind of recognition, especially after 40+ years of research on the island. Rolf was a professor and mentor of mine in college and I was able to spend a fair amount of time out in the field with him, so I have an enormous amount of respect for him and the work that he does. The Isle Royale predator-prey study has entered what is likely one of the most difficult chapters in it's 50+ year history, so it's great to have him still leading the way.
