 Transportation from Duluth Airport to Grand PortageThere are 3 of us backpacking the length of the island in August, but have yet to figure out a good way to get back and forth from the airport (Duluth). Any suggestions? Apparently Happy Times Bus Tours used to travel that, but they no longer run that route. Renting a car and having it sit for the 8 days we are on the island seems silly.
We were planning on staying at the Lodge and Casino, but now I find out that it is "Rendevous weekend and everything in a 30 mile radius is booked!! HELP!!! Thanks for your help!! |

Re: Transportation from Duluth Airport to Grand Portage You could check with Harriet Quarles in Grand Marais. She often shuttles people along the SHT and she does rides to Duluth at least once a week. 1-800-962-0409 or 218-387-1801

Re: Transportation from Duluth Airport to Grand Portage We are flying in Aug 13th, getting the ferry the 14th leaving the island the 22nd flying out on Aug 23rd.

Re: Transportation from Duluth Airport to Grand Portage We will be staying in Grand Marais our first night (the 13th) and will need to get to the ferry the 14th. I haven't had a chance to try Harriot Quarels yet, will try there tomorrow and let you know what I find out.
