Nat Geo Topo quads

NATGEO does a good job of cleaning up and enhancing these maps. I wonder why they haven't processed all of them. Windigo and Feldtman Lake are simple scans of original. Cartography is a passion. I could spend hours studying almost any map, the older the better.

Older maps were works of art. New maps are works of computer. I used to hang charts and maps on my walls because they were so beautiful to looks at. I remember talking to a NOAA cartographer who described the painstaking work of charting hundreds of individual pilings with a drop-compass.
