IMHO the Zen Stove site still has the best comparison's of backpacking stoves. http://zenstoves.net/

As I recall, SGT Rock did comparison reviews, and posted it on his site, http://hikinghq.net/stoves/stove_compare.html.

He compared many different types. It may interest a few here.

I have to say I'm a die-hard with my heet-powered alcohol stove, but if I was looking at something else it would probably be a canister.
