Blisters

Post by johnhens »

Anyone who has backpacked enough has had problems with blisters at some point. IR in the Spring, when the trails are often wet, has produced blisters for many a hiker. New boots not broken in. Boots too big or too small. I have tried a liner sock with a hiking sock (works well), moleskin and molefoam, comped (blister preventative pads), duct tape, bandaids ect.
Came across a study by a Dr. who used paper tape, as a trial, on extreme racers. Paper tape seemed to work better than duct tape for preventing blisters. Leukotape works well also.
