EverClear on Seaplane

Post by iseewildtrees »

Sigh.... it's the ongoing saga of "why don't they sell denatured alcohol at the camp store?!"

Anyhow, I have confirmed that Windigo does not sell any fuel that will work in my super-awesome little pop can stove. I hate to buy a new stove, and will willingly take everclear. However, I have emailed twice over two weeks and have not gotten a reply if it's allowable to take EverClear on the seaplane.

Does anyone know? Does anyone have other ideas of a go around?

Thanks!

According to the Travle guidelines from the webpage, no flameable liquids can be taken on the plane. This would include Everclear as it is extemely flameable.

EverClear on Seaplane

No accelerants are permitted on board, which includes any liquid fuel and even esbit type tablets. I had to ship my esbit tabs to IR (another usps process in itself known as ORM-D).

If you have a hobo capable stove (like most esbit stoves ) you can use them with sticks and birchbark at most sites, even sites that don’t allow campfires. That worked well.
