Hello All,
I posted our trip on the calendar (Aug 15-26) as Team Mulenny. We are debating what site we should camp at / hike to after Three Mile.
Should we go to Rock Harbor then the following day get to East Chickenbone
OR
should we go to Lane Cove w/ a trip to Lookout Louise and the following day get to East Chickenbone?
We can only do one or the other and reading all the post on this site just makes it more difficult to decide.
This is our first trip to IR and we have made it an ambitious one.

I would definitely do Lane Cove unless you want to get food etc at RH. Would also bypass E Chickenbone CG. It is the only CG on the island that I do not like due to water access and location.

Actually it is a very easy hike to W.Chick from there. A much better campground. But, you will have a long day so E.Chick is a backup, just be forewarned of the water hike once there.

I'd go for Lane Cove, too, but you can change your mind once you're there if you're really dying for a burger and a beer, or a shower. Although it has seemed a little surreal to me to have R.H. in the middle of a wilderness trip, the couple of times I've done that.
