Hello!
My fiancé and I are embarking on our first Isle Royale backpacking trip this June! We are both in our twenties and fairly fit with some backpacking experience.
I was wondering how this itinerary looks to you guys!
Day 1: Arrive in McCargoe Cove, 1 p.m.
Hike to Todd Harbor Campground, 6.6 miles
Day 2: Todd harbor to Desor South, 11.4 miles
Day 3: Desor South to Siskiwit Bay, 9.9 miles
Day 4: Siskiwit Bay to Feldtman Lake: 10.3 miles
Day 5: Feldtman Lake to Windigo: 8.8 miles
Arrive in Windigo by 1
Board Sea Hunter III, 1:30
I really wanted to hit some of the cool sites on the island and get a lot of hiking in! Is this too ambitious?
Itinerary advice for first trip?

Re: Itinerary advice for first trip?
If you've got the experience with 10+ miles days, it looks good. Personally I like a layover day, but other than that it's a great route. I would suggest getting going at first light on the last day--you don't want to miss the boat! And be aware that if you're early in June there may still be winter deadfall to deal with on some of the trails.
