Looking for the easiest way to get a kayak to Sargent Lake to do some fishing. Any suggestions or recommendations?

I remember a story or two about folks taking pack rafts in. I can only imagine a kayak would be pretty tough. You may find some helpful info by searching old threads.

I know johnhens and porter have both visited Sargent Lake and have written about it here. John caught some Northern there. Getting a paddle craft in and out is of course the question. Reading their accounts may give you some enlightenment.

While I haven’t rewatched in a while, im 99% sure that George Desort did for 50 lakes one Island documentary... not saying it would be easy but almost anything CAN be done with enough motivation.

While George used his kayak extensively, I think it was mainly to transport all his gear to base camps. I could be wrong but I don't think he took his kayak to most inland lakes, especially the hard to reach ones. His Fifty Lakes One Island website is still up. I just went through it again. He makes you do a little work to view the preview videos for each lake visit but here's the list in order from his map. It is a bit difficult to judge the accuracy of the mapping of the paths he took. Some look realistic while others, maybe not so much. He makes no claims one way or the other. His apparent entry to Sargent Lake seems to be a bit east of other paths described. BTW, I could only see 48 lake stops but I do not bring that up as any sort of detraction from his efforts.

I ran into a guy about 10 years ago when I was staying at McCargoe who had been fishing at Sargent. He said there was a fairly well traveled trail which very much paralleled the stream feeding into McCargoe cove. The trail was bushwhacked by a fishing guide who took people back there. I wasn't fishing or canoeing at the time so I didn't ask anymore questions.
