Wow. That's so neat. I had the pleasure of meeting "Benny's Mom" (as I kept calling her) at the casino the Friday night before the trip, and was on the boat with her for the outbound Saturday trip she writes about. (Yeah, yeah, my own trip report pending.)
I can confirm that the author is just as nice and kind as her son. She was telling me the stories of riding out on the Voyageur-I as a little girl.
