Post by zims »

well heres the long and short. (plus one night at porcupine state park)
1 black bear with 3 small cubs then.....

Rock harbor to 3 mile, to daisy farm to moskey basin, to 3 mile to rock harbor, boat home.
total moose= 4
fox=2
frogs turtles loons ducks= many
mosquitos= to infinity and beyond and all their cousins

beautiful weather and met great people. If you want pictures let me know I have them, hard to post them here though.
100% deet at all times, and a deet lotion for hands and face, 0 degree sleeping bags and rain gear were our staples.
May I add, one blown out knee requiring a knee brace and hiking poles to walk at all.
Happy hiking

Well, that is certainly short and sweet! :) Hope all had fun! Bumber on the knee....that doesn't sound like too much fun :(

Hey Zim's rock on man. I hate mosquitoes, just as you do, but I'm sure that is second to your love for the island. So I hope that means you have a fantastic time, which by the sounds of it, you did ;) Love to see the pictures. How would you like to send them if you don't know how to post them here?

0 degree bag in June? I would have died... I was sweating in my 45 bag some nights.

Sounds like a great trip! Nice pictures, sorry about the knee. I have had that problem before it can really put a damper on the trip, hope you made the best of it.
