One of hikes I love at ISRO is the one out to Lookout Louise. I did it early one morning, just as the sun was coming up. Thanks for the report!

Re: Trip Help

You could stay up to 3 days at Washington Creek CG and day hike on the trails (Greenstone, Minong and Feldtmen) in that area. Moose are often in the Creek (early a.m. or late p.m.).

Re: TR: 6/22-6/27 2019 : Greenstone Trail RH to Windigo (3MC-WCB-HL-SLD-WC)

2 years ago on the V2 (after labor day) after leaving Windigo we rode 6-8 waves, back to Minnesota. I don't remember too many people having any issues with going outside and getting rid of lunch, etc. Most of us just watched the skill of the pilot. We were happy to get to dock!

Re: Sea Hunter III trip canceled, plus a question

I saw the Sea Hunter for the first time at Rock Harbor near the end of June. I guess they were doing a lighthouse tour.

Re: Itinerary Input...

Hopefully when you get to C.H., the family that was out fishing the days I was there, will be there. Lots of fried lake trout for them and yours truly. Lucky me! Enjoy your trip!

Nice! Thanks! I saw the bridge when we canoed near that area 9 years ago.

Mott Island trails

I haven't done the Mott Is. Trails. Can't remember (I'm old) if I've read anyone's report on hiking them. Suggestions/comments would be appreciated.

Re: Luggage on Isle Royale Queen IV

A few years ago, we had to go back and pick up a canoe in the middle of Lake Superior (high waves that day).

Re: data Minong

Probably everyone has a story about the N. Desor to Wash. Creek hike. My hiking partner that day was a former marine with survival training. We followed a well used trail into a bog (this is just after the last? beaver dam). After wasting a lot of time, we back tracked to near the beaver dam and fou...

Re: What to expect in late Aug-early Sept.

The two times I've been at ISRO in September, storms caused high waves on Lake Superior. The ferry from Copper Harbor was supposed to pick us up I believe on a Sunday. Because of waves of up to 15 feet it finally got there on Tuesday. The ferry from Grand Portage picked us on time, but we had 6-8 wa...
