Hi everyone,
Our mini hiking trio is thinking about the minong next year. We had a great discussion with the ranger at Washington creek. Will there be anyone planning on a trek next year in september?

Re: WE HAVE MADE IT BACK
Hello everyone. We arrived iN Grand Portage at about 9pm on Saturday night. The only thing for miles with a room was the casino. It wasnt bad, nice room with a really comfortable bed and they give you a voucher for 5 bucks to blow in the slots. We drove down to the dock, so we would know where to go ...

Re: Windigo Store
since just returning, I think both stores are pretty equal in supplies. I even purchased a jacket that came in handy during the week to keep me warm at night. Very resonable priced. The sandwich was worth the $4.35, they are generous with the fillings and give you a brown bag deal, you get lettuce ...

Re: Shelter locations - table?
Most of the tables are moved into the shelters, very nice for cooking and card playing and reorganizing your pack. We moved tables in when we stayed in them. You won't regret a night where you can stretch out. sleep without the tent in these, it actually is nice
Re: The Bugs?
Hi
Just returned and I can tell you that if you spray once with deet, you should be good all day till dusk. At siskiwit and feldtman we had a bit of monster mosquitos.

Re: *Seven* Nights in August
Just a FYI !!!!! Last year we were held on the island for a whole day due to the queen not being able to get out of copper harbor to IR. We had depleated our food supply, and glad we had a few bucks to get a few things to hold us over. We almost got stuck on the island for another night. Boat ...

Re: West Chickenbone Campground
HI We hiked to West chickenbone last year from Daisy farm and when we got there we had no problem getting a great tent site with a "lake side "view. The only thing I did not like about this lake was the leeches. I was all but ready to jump in to get refreshed and the ranger came walking up and said ...
