Water treatment?
Help, do we have to chemically treat filtered water? We have a MSR Hyperflow filter and a MSR Miniworks EX to filter water. We also have a Steripen for final treatment. We purchased the Miniworks EX for back up after reading all the mixed reviews on the Hyperflow filter.

Re: Looking for Lake Info
Hello fellow oudoor junkies, Can you swim or wade in any of the inland lakes? Moskey Basin has a nice sandy swimming area in the little bay off the shelter area. We swam in Siskiwit last fall, nice though rocky. You could swim at Wood lake from the landing area as the water drops off nicely. Don't ...

Someone did tests comparing different strengths of DEET and found that there isn't that much more effectiveness of 100% DEET over 30% Deet and the higher concentration DEET had more of a tendency to ...

Re: August 2009 Trip
Be careful going down to Malone Bay. I almost got lost two or three times going toward Malone last summer. The trail didn't appear to be used too much last year. If you are in good shape you probably can do you it. (Last year wolves ran through Hatchet and woke me up with their evening chants ...

Re: Looking for Lake Info
Look at "Fish List in Inland Lakes" under this link: http://www.nps.gov/isro/planyourvisit/brochures.htm Richie is generally regarded as the best pike lake. Not much in panfish, but northern and perch in just about every lake. Most folks like me stick to daredevils and mepps. I'm sure some better ...
