Re: Greenstone out - East end in
Sounds like it would be fine. Nothing too hard. We did a similar trip a few years back with our kids ages 16,13 and 11 in about 5 days and didn't have any issues with the distance. The CH trail seemed long since it was a dead end and we started at Daisy Farm but is by far one of my favorite spots on ...

Re: Tarp
We always bring our siltarp and it has always proved to be a great investment. Depends how far and if you are backpacking, but I wouldn't want to carry the blue poly tarp too far.

Re: Ken Burn's National Park Series 9/27/09

Re: Isle Royale trip 2009
I met a guy named Dave from Chicago who is solo hiking Isle Royale. He states he wanted to come here 16 years ago, but a family got in the way. He is working on visiting every National Park. I ran into a guy from Washington State while hiking from Navajo Mountain on the AZ/UT border down to Rainbow ...

The Power of Isle Royale
Some random thoughts I have read this forum for many years and it is my way of getting my Isle Royale fix. I have read posts about ISRO getting in your blood and during my first trip in 2000 the mosquitoes infected me. My grandfather who was from the Keeweenaw Peninsula always told my father he ...
