What is the portage distance now between Chickenbone and McCargoe Cove.
I have heard it was increased to 2 miles from 0.7 miles.

We will be taking 2 water taxi's when we are on Isle Royale August 10 from Rock Harbor to Chippewa Harbor and again August 14 from Moskey Basin back to Rock Harbor.
Is it correct to tip the driver for the service?

My 2 gransons, age 16 (2nd trip) and 12 (1st trip), my son in law and I will be going to Chippewa Harbor by water taxi, then to Lake Richie for 2 nights, then Moskee Basin for a night, then water taxi back to Rock Harbor for a night.

Yes I have the Trails Illustrated Map and some TOPO and NEXRAD views available.

This trip was originaly planned to happen in 2008.

August 21, 2011 3 of us will be hiking from Daisey Farm to Rock Harbor on the Rock Harbor Trail.
When we get to the Suzy's Cave area is it better to switch to the Tobin Harbor side, stay on the Rock Harbor Trail or are they both about the same.
