The algae blooms are clogging filters at Lake Ritchie, and perhaps Chickenbone as well. Folks we talked to at McCargo on 8/25 said that their filter volume dropped off and became harder to pump after using it at Chickenbone.

I'm torn between the appreciation of the artwork and the "devaluing" of the IR experience. Some of the stuff looks like public bathroom stuff, but a few really are creative. I just wish that the art would be located somewhere else outside of the shelter.

FWIW -- I concur with Keweenaw and Jerry. I'll add that all three of your itineraries look good and completely doable. The toughest thing for you will be picking one of the three routes.

Yes, West Chickenbone is the place you want to be. East is nice for a visit. West gets packed pretty quick, even in slower times; it's pretty popular.
