Re: Where does my backpack go while traveling on the Ranger?
I find your observations the opposite of mine. There was plenty of food available in the store. Eggs were there also costing only $2 for a dozen. I pictured items to be overpriced when I was there and found most to be quite reasonable. Especially, there Laffy Taffy's at 10 cents a piece a total of ...

Bugs mid June Report
I just arrived back in Chicago last night from IR. I was a virgin to it and I can't wait to get back there. But, just a quick post before I leave, the mosquitos and black flys were almost non-existent. I only sprayed once in the morning after a early morning rainfall. I did get bit, but it was less ...

Re: Early bugs, spring 2010
Oh just great! That's the last thing I want to hear right now. I am leaving tomorrow for Hancock and sailing on the Ranger Tuesday. I will be prepared for them, but I was afraid of this.
Thank you for the update though!

Re: Fishing Questions
THere aren't any fish on Isle Royale. Don't waste your time, especially on Whitlessey, no walleye there, please do yourself a favor and avoid fishing here.  http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z260/colvinch/Isle%20Royale%202009/P1010226.jpg I might be a Pollack, correction Pollick ...

Re: Where does my backpack go while traveling on the Ranger?
Don- Hey thanks for the feedback! I would be bringing powdered eggs, but time constraints to get them delivered in time. I think I will buy them at R.H. now that you have mentioned it. One less thing to worry about. My Dad just started to buy farm eggs at my parent's cottage and now swear by them ...

Re: Fishing Questions
Okay cool.
I am a largemouth angler and own five baitcasters. It's the only reels I have used. I was raised on spinners, but changed a long time ago. Plus, I don't have to buy another reel.

Where does my backpack go while traveling on the Ranger?
My concern is some of my equipment I don't want to part with. For example, my Nikon.

Re: Fishing Questions
Robin thanks for the info!
I will be shore fishing as I will be backpacking the trip. I have 10 pound test now on my Calcutta. I will be bringing a three piece M-H 6'6". Should I go 7' H? What about line test?

Re: Fishing Questions
Appreciate the gesture! I am a rook to Isle Royale in a few more weeks. What lures do I need to bring with?

Re: Fishing at IR
So, I never fished Northern Pike before. Only large mouth at my P's cottage. With that said, I need some help!
I want to fish when I go in mid June. Do I need a lead? What pound test line? What about a glove to handle them?
I am okay on lures, rod, and a reel.
Thanks in advance for all replies!
