With such a short visit, there is not much room to vary your itinerary away from a direct end-to-end hike. If your legs feel strong on the first day, you could make it to Lake Desor South. I did the Ishpeming Trail in Sept. 2023. The beaver dam appears to be abandoned. It is not holding back any water due due to deterioration and breaches. The path through the washout area was very easy to navigate.

Two notable lakes contain no game fish, Lake Desor and Hatchet Lake. Shoreline fishing is challenging on the remaining lakes due to the thick brush and obstacles like swamps and rock ledges, but it is possible.
