Re: Agate Beach

Going via the shoreline is next to impossible. If you still want to do this, follow the tops of the ridges out to Agate Beach. I've done a lot of off-trail camping and bushwacking on Isle Royale. Staying on the higher ridges is the best way to go. Good compass and/or GPS skills are a must.

I had a back country permit (which by the way is straightforward to obtain) and was planning on off-trail camping somewhere in between those two destinations. I never found a...

Re: June '11 Feldtman Loop

The red markers you refer to were just extraneous markers that I was using when viewing with acme mapper. One was an old marker and some were new when I was experimenting with the mindat location data. When I made the links I didn't think those markers would be included. I thought they were local to...

...Now that my ferry reservations are in I just have to hope the ferry out of CH isn't delayed.
Also note that the Voyageur II operates on Central Daylight Time (since it is based in Grand Portage MN).

Re: Changing my userid

The ability to merge two users may require a specialized extension to this phpBB forum. I'll defer your question to fonixmunkee who is more knowledgeable in this area. We could rename your original username to be "bobcat1" and this would affect 29 of your oldest posts. Then we could rename your curr...

After searching the web for key words in the original post, I located a post in another backpacker forum (WhiteBlaze) that was the same word...
