I did the Ishpeming Trail in Sept. 2023. The beaver dam appears to be abandoned. It is not holding back any water due due to deterioration and breaches. The path through the washout area was very easy to navigate.

Another interesting note on the map that I also remember from my 1972 trip, the Rock Harbor Trail from Daisy Farm to Moskey Basin was situated at the shoreline.

For about a mile near Feldtmann Lake campground, before climbing the ridge, the trail follows a long, straight berm that rises 4 or 5 feet above the surrounding swamp. Two notable lakes contain no game fish, Lake Desor and Hatchet Lake.
