Private seaplane
So a friend of mine has offered to fly me to the island on his seaplane... Any restrictions on private aircraft landing at the park? I am not an aviator, so I don't know the rules.

Re: Trip Advise - First Timer!
Sounds like a perfect 1st trip plan to me. The hike to Lane Cove is not that bad, and totally worth it.

Re: How crowded for July 4, 2012
My first ever backpacking trip was on IR last August. Had a great time!!!
Best advice I can give is to get in as many miles hiking with a full pack as you can BEFORE your trip. Better conditioning will result in a better experience.

We arrived on the Queen and were on the trail before 12:30 and made it to Lane Cove around 4:00 (I think). Great place to spend ...

Re: Lane Cove
I am planning to spend a night there mid August - Are the mosquitoes REALLY any worse there than any other campground?

Advice for a 1st time visit
Planning a fall visit to the park this year, arriving on Friday and leaving on Monday. Traveling from Copper Harbor to Rock Harbor. There will be 2 of us, neither of us have a great amount of back country backpacking experience. Not carved in stone, but I'm thinking: 1st night at Lane Cove 2nd night ...
