Re: Do you use trekking poles on IR?
I always bring my poles to the island. They have saved me a number of times on the rock of the Minong. Especially when things get a little wet and slippery. I also usually use a shelter that requires a pole or two to set up, so I save weight there too.

Re: Hammocks
I ended up buying my slings from another forum member over in the for sale section of hammockforums.net. I find a lot of my gear over there, and sell my stuff I'm not using also. If your wondering about a suspension for your hammock, slings and toggles are it. I can hang my hammock in just about 1 ...

Re: Hammocks
A friend and I hiked the Minong last summer with two hammocks and had the best time yet. I've been to the island a couple times before and always did the tent/shelter thing, but this time we decided to take our hammocks, and they worked very well. Re: Leaving in a week
Bugs are still bad! Just got off the plane today. Mosquitos in the backwoods and a ton of flys by the zoos of daisy and rock harbor. We did the minong from west to east and the west seems a little better.

Re: My packing list & weights

Re: Water filter recommendation?
Hands down the best, cheap, no PARTS to break! I made one and will never go back to my big clunky pump filter.

Re: Solo UL tent suggestion
Hi there,
Im not a big poster on this forum, but I can lend a hand in this area. First, dont buy new. Cruise the for sale forums at backpackinglight.com , hammockforums.com, and whiteblaze.net. You would not believe the deals there. For instance, the last round of gear I just sold this past week ...
