Re: Message Body Box Issues

Update. As I thought, the issue I am consistently experiencing happens both when pressing the space nar and any other key that causes something to be typed onto the screen. It makes writing messages distracting and causes me to take longer to write them

Re: 4 Nights In/Out from Rock Harbor

Well with that noted, Vandy does make a great point, Moskey Basin is a place you should try to fit in. If you don't mind doing a little double backing and are not obsessed with seeing as much of the island at once because you know'll you'll return in the future, then yes plan Moskey Basin somewhere ...

Re: 4 Nights In/Out from Rock Harbor

Vandy I wanted to include Moskey Basin in the itinerary, but if Hooky was considering a light plan, I don't think Moskey should be an option. When I say light, I'm talking 4-6 miles a day. Him having to hoof from Moskey to Lane Cove might not be his idea of fun. Some like to experience the island ...

Re: Message Body Box Issues

Ha Ha Ha now when I try to duplicate the problem the message body wants to play nice and not cause any problems. If I remember correctly, it was occuring whenever I clicked a letter or the space key and not just the space key alone. I will keep your question in mind next time the problem happens ...

Message Body Box Issues

Now before anyone gives me greif about typing too much, I warn you in advance :P So here is my problem and maybe its not a problem at all with the site, but I think it is because both my laptop and desktop have the same issue. When I write a message as I am doing right now in this message box, once ...

Re: Solo Trip in May

Jerry: It was about 30 hours before I saw/talked to anyone. This is the idea I find most alluring. Don't get me wrong, I am a very social animal if there ever was one, but I like the idea of complete removal from civilization with no human contact. Every person I have every met on the island or on ...

Re: Solo Trip in May

John: I won't lie, and not to sound like a wimp, but yes, I am a bit concerned about being alone at night. I don't know if its because I have watched one to many scary movies, if I have seen one to many murder mysteries on court tv, or if the darkness and being unaware of what is lurking outside of ...

Re: Solo Trip in May

Gimp: If I had broken my leg near Lake Desor I would have been a full days walk away from a Ranger with a radio in one direction (Windigo), and further than that to Daisy Farm in the other direction. With a broken leg I couldn't crawl that far... I stubbed my toe pretty seriously one time and I didn ...

Re: Solo Trip in May

Tom: Ha Ha Ha with the Master Debater comment :P I want to thank you for giving me the idea about contacting the Ranger III park services. You are correct, they do sell seats at earlier points than the advertised May 29th date. This is good news, because I know that I did not want to drive all the ...

Re: 4 Nights In/Out from Rock Harbor

I am imagining that perhaps you are taking the Ranger III since you are leaving on 5/29 (the Ranger's "offical" first day of the season.) Whether or not you are taking the Ranger III or Isle Queen IV is an important piece of information. If you are taking the Ranger III, you will get to the island ...

Solo Trip in May

Just about an hour ago I started debating with myself about taking a solo trip in May. It would be nice to get away for a while and just be by myself to sort out my own personal thoughts, dreams, and ambitions. I have never done one before and was wondering if anyone could give me some broad advice ...

Re: What are you going to use your REI dividend on? 2012 edi

I just ordered a Carbon Reflex 3 MSR tent and got my buddy an extra 20% discount on some rollerblades that were already 40% off in the outlet. Yay! I know you can get an extra 20% any outlet items, but I was not aware of there being any sales currently being ran outside of the outlet, so if you mean ...

Re: Fourth Edition of DuFresne's guide book - differences?

IMHO, and anyone can feel free to correct me if I am wrong, I own the 3rd edition and I compared it next to a 4th edition at the store without noticing any huge differences besides many extra pictures that were not in the 3rd edition. Now keep in mind, I did not scan through each and ever page ...
