The Great Lakes are just that....Great. There are no others. My most memorable times were on the lakes. Anything else just doesn't compare.

I was following this...It's wild.

Down here, 120 miles south of Lake Michigan, the whole thing blew through in about an hour (riding on that south arm).....High winds, but no damage where I live, and only about a inch of rain. Moved through quick and left, with sunshine after.

Same here, won't get to go till next year as well.....I guess that all we can hope for is the fates (and the weather) are as kind to us as well......

One of my favorite National Parks, where the action is underground, is Mammoth Caves National Park in Kentucky. Although my last visit there was 1994, when I was a much younger (and better) hiker, the images of the below-ground wonder still live on.

Not much in the way of Internet in those days ...

Here's a neat place for hiking and camping in the lower peninsula, not far from Mackinaw City .....Our first night there in 2000, I ate an entire cherry pie we had bought at a roadside stand near Charlevoix on the way up......
