I agree with the ...spending less each year at REI...that dividend doesn't equate, with their higher prices compared to many other retailers.
Occasionally at the "OUTLET" you may find a deal, but you don't get the dividend at the outlet.

Get an early start out of N Desor, if possible.
Sounds like a great outing. Enjoy.

Have you tried to access the Tobin Harbor cam?Midwest Ed wrote:The Mott Island Webcam is back. The URL was taken down for a few weeks but there is a new web address back up. It still has a focus/stability issue.

At just over 1.5 lbs., this is a decent single wall 2 person tent. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MSR-Flylite-2-Person-Shelter-Tent-Blue-BRAND-NEW-WITH-TAGS.-NO-RESERVE-/111966197574?hash=item1a11b49746:g:9tcAAOSwvgdW6Uz9 I have upgraded from my previous https://www.rei.com/product/706620/msr-missing-link-...

Re: Music Playlist for Isle Royale
I have never taken music into the wilderness. However, some of my "Faves" for various other outdoor activities. Zep, Dylan, the Band, Lou Reed, Bowie, Beatles, Stones, Dave Clark Five - for Rock n Roll. Buddy Guy, BB King, Eric Clapton, SRV - for blues. Hank, Patsy, Johnny, Waylon, Willie,...

That makes good sense!irhikers wrote:...having your permit issued at Rock Harbor reduces the time the boat has to wait at Windigo.
The Voyaguer II trip seems like a special means of access to the Isle; the many possible stops along the way to Rock Harbor, an experience in itself.

As I recall, some months earlier, there was such a position offered through the U S A Jobs site.

Re: Books
The Isle Royale & Keweenaw Parks Association website, that is linked in johnhens post, has plenty of related reading material to fill a home library. Besides just the guidebook, there is a package of "guidebook, map, & checklist" that is a good deal. I believe they give 10% discoun...

Re: Can you please review our itinerary?
Hello - I'm glad I found this great site. We are planing our first trip to IR and wanted feedback on our planned route and some other questions. We are planning later in August this year. Our group consists of some 50 year old guys in mixed states of fitness, 3 women aged 17-25 in decent fitness an...

Re: Private ferry charters?
I would start with the park service to get an idea of the logistics of such a request.
I would also check with Forever Resorts to seek the same.
My guess is that it is not likely that the NPS would allow that many in one group/activity at one time.

I'll second the BIG THANK YOU!
I'm wondering is there a way one can adapt the site, to bring up a link automatically, in a different window, instead of having to right click and "open in another window"?
I would say, that is my "least favorite" function, on the site.

Re: Newbies first trip to IR
... On another subject, I was reading through about the camp grounds. Is there a problem that there is none open?... I'm not sure if you mean "closed" or "full"? There is always a possibility that in June-August, some camps may be full, but, I believe this would be rare. As far ...
