Share water taxi - Aug 13 or 16
My group (2 adults, 1 child) is arriving on the Ranger on Aug 13 and taking the water taxi to Moskey. We're taking the taxi from Daisy Farm to RH on the 16th. (But willing to flip Moskey and Daisy Farms). Is anyone heading either way that wants to share the cost? We could add up to 3 more people. I ...

Re: Two nights at Moskey or Daisy Farm?
I'd second the vote for Daisy, in this case. Moskey is wonderful, of course, but after that first day it's more of a 'set back and relax' camp that might not appeal to the young one. It is, however, the only place I've ever swam with otters. Not intentionally, of course, but they didn't seem to ...

Two nights at Moskey or Daisy Farm?
I'm trying to figure out whether to spend 2 nights at Moskey or Daisy Farm for a trip this summer. Would either location be more enjoyable for a young kid (4.5 years old) who likes to play in water, look for rocks and other treasures (no worries-they will stay there), climb, etc?

Re: Traveling with small children and Seniors
We stayed in a camper cabin in Windigo a couple summers ago with our then 2.5 year old. The set up sounds ideal for your group. The cabins are at the top of the hill, tucked behind the store. They aren't far from the ferry dock so someone from your group could make a few trips up with gear. The ...

Re: Getting in shape to hike from McCargoe Cove to Moskey Ba
Thanks, Jerry! I appreciate it. We were thinking it would be significantly harder and it would take us all summer to be ready. I'm so glad we're wrong.

Re: Getting in shape to hike from McCargoe Cove to Moskey Ba
That's it?! I was expecting something much steeper than the trails at Afton. You made my day! Thanks!

Getting in shape to hike from McCargoe Cove to Moskey Basin
My husband and I need to get in shape for our first trip to IR. Our plan is to hike from McCargoe to Chippewa Harbor or Daisy Farm to catch the ferry back to MN. It looks like the stretch over the Greenstone Ridge will be the most strenuous. Is there any hiking within a few hours of the Twin Cities ...
