Re: Killarney Provincial Park
Sailed up Baie Fine some years ago. This is a lake we hiked up to. Water was much bluer than shows in the pic. Trailhead is at the very end of the bay.

I believe this the at the end of Baie Fine, but if not, it's representative.

Re: Sometimes you find something strange...
On my way to the doctors office in lower Michigan I camped overnight at Straights State Park. As it was raining on and off and cold that late in October my wife and son stayed in a motel and left the camping to the only one of the three not smart enough to stay out of the rain. Even in state park ...

Fayette Historic State Park

End of year
As the island says good-by to its last human visitors for the season. I would like to take a moment to thank the one above that Sandy wasn't one of the last visitors to this park this year.

Re: Mammoth Caves National Park
I have been to Mammoth Caves National Park 5 times over the past 40 years. And there was something new to see every trip. They have so many tour options there should be something for everyone. I don't know if they still have it, but I even took a tour that included a boat ride in the underground ...

And sometimes something strange finds you.

Richard:
I looked up some pictures. If the stern is as it looks you could probably stow an 8 foot kayak for getting into all the nooks and crannys either too shallow or off limits to motors.
I had been thinking about how to carry a canoe but your idea would work great for a kayak. I will just ...

Re: Am I alone?
I have bought a power boat so if my health doesn't allow me to sail I will use the power boat next spring.
Richard:
Did you go with your earlier power boat choice? Do you have any pictures you can share? The sailing would have been sweet but I'm betting you'll be happier with the power choice ...

Re: Am I alone?
I love the pictures of sailboats at the island. Thanks so much. How long do you make your trips there with the boat? And what fishery was the pictures of the old boat on the shoreline? It looked like a real piece of history.

Re: Am I alone?
My doctor canceled this years trip. :( I had a little health problem. However I am looking forward to next season. :D I love my sailboat but with my mobility issues it can be too much to single hand sometimes so I also picked up a 21ft cuddycabin so if I cann't find a crew for the sailboat(wife or ...
