Did the August expedition (ferry from Houghton) last summer with my daughter and we are very grateful for having had the experience. Lots of great memories.

Re: Winter study

I've been wondering the same thing. Been 10 days since that 1st post. Don't even know if they made it on to the island.

Re: Edible Flora on IR

Hi THomas. Just got back from a week on the island (Aug 2-10). Blueberries were just peaking and we had our fill. Saw (and ate) a few ripe thimbleberries, but I'd say we were about a week too early for them. They should be ready when you get there. We were mostly west-central. LOTS of blueberries ...

Winter Study 2013

Is it safe to assume there will be another winter study this year? If so, about when will it begin? My family and I love following the blog.

Thanks

Re: Park headquarters in Houghton worth visiting?

Thank you both. I wasn't sure where exactly the headquarters was located in town. Helpful to know that it's right there where we'll catch the Ranger III. My daughter and I hope to be participating in a Moosewatch expedition in August, and will be arriving in Houghton a day early. Looking for things ...

Park headquarters in Houghton worth visiting?

Will be visiting IRNP this coming summer and am beginning to do some planning. Is there anything worth seeing at the park headquarters in Houghton, or is that just administrative offices?

Thanks
