Re: favorite trail and campsite
Traffic on the forum has definitely slowed in recent years (Wish i could say the same about traffic on the island!). My thoughts exactly. Favorite Trail: Minong Trail between N. Desor and Little Todd. Rugged and Beautiful. It gives me the feeling that I look for when I visit, that I am so Far away ...

Re: Things that make you go, hmmm......
A large group of teenagers at Three Mile dock with a large (and loud) radio. No, they did not get there by boat, must have wanted their music bad enough to carry it from Rock Harbor.
Unfortunately, I've had a negative opinion about Three Mile ever since.

Re: What national parks haven't you visited, but would like to?
Thank You for the Info. This summers mission, visit that 'campsite on the ridge' location. WoW. Was that night 1, 2, or 3 location.
I noticed that map does not offer Topographic lines. Although not terribly important, I'd like to know what kind of elevation changes to expect.

Broken Trees?
During our trip last August we noticed something weird with the trees along the Mt Franklin and Greenstone ridge trails. Most of the trees about 1 to 2 inches in diameter and approximately 4 to 6 feet from the ground were broken. My girlfriend and I tried to figure out why. We asked other hikers who ...

Awesome pictures. I could almost feel in chill in the air in some of them. Can you tell me what camera you use. I'm looking to upgrade my camera for my August trip this year.

Great Report,
We crossed paths. I was the solo hiker the Float Plane was dropping off on Friday morning. I couldn't help but over hear you discussing with the pilot about hoping to catch a ride back at that time.

Re: See the ISS from Isle Royale
I was able to view the ISS fron the dock of Daisy Farms on my last trip (Aug of 13). There was a boater docked that advised the ISS was going to come over the horizon at 9:45. Almost to the minute it came over the horizon and moved across the sky at a quick pace. I believe it was going to circle ...
