As most of you know, cell phones generally do not work on Isle Royal, and there are no land line phones either. But the Park Service does have one satellite phone available for visitor use. I generally don't mind getting away from phones for a few days, but since my elderly Mother is in poor health ...

Just an interesting fact that I heard from a Park Ranger on Island Royal...
Isle Royal is the least visited National Park, but has the highest percentage of return visitors

It looks like the closest camp grounds to Grand Portage are at the Grand Portage Casino/Lodge (in Grand Portage), or Judge Magney State Park (about 15 miles south). Are these the best options for camping?

On a map, it looks like there are two marinas in Grand Portage. One is near the casino, the other is about 3 miles NE of the casino. Which marina does the Voyager II depart from?
