When should I make reservations for the ferry to Isle Royale? And if I take the Ranger III, would it be to risky to take the 5:25 flight to MSP on the same day?

Besides IR which I plan on visiting this summer, I'd also like to check out these national parks in the future:

One thing you do get on the Ranger is a scenic ride up Rock Harbor--it also makes a stop at the park HQ on Mott Island to unload supplies, before you get to the lodge (this also accounts for the longer trip). I have a few questions regarding a probable Isle Royale trip:

• Would I be missing anything if I took the water taxi to the Rock Harbor Lighthouse/Edisen Fishery as opposed to the MV Sandy?
• Is Passage Island worth visiting?
• How long does it take to hike Mt Ojibway from Daisy Farm (roundtrip)
