I’m pretty certain it’s this model...

If so, it’s 29’ long and holds 14 paddlers.

Hey there GR folks!

How do you like the Q-Core SLX? It is really comfortable. I like it a lot. I especially like the pump sack that you have to buy separately. It makes inflation a breeze. The large exhaust port makes deflation quick and easy as well. I can’t say how durable this one is. I haven’t had any problems wit...

Re: TR:Feldtmann Loop & Huginin Cove, August 26-30, 2020

Do you know how much food you finished with? I think I ended up with three breakfasts, two dinners, and an unopened bag of turkey jerky. I decided on my second day to eat as much as possible to avoid carrying it. I don’t know about leaving food this year, but I have heard that on normal years, the ...

I’ll try to get some photos posted later. I did get one of the canoe. Thanks for posting photos of the map. That is approximately what my GPS showed. 776FA429-98BF-4BC7-A763-2C30EF65C5EE.png It still astounds me that Garmin’s maps could be so out of date. I encountered something similar bikepacking ...

I just posted it. I haven't sorted my photos out yet. I may add those later in the comments.

Thanks again for your advice!

TR:Feldtmann Loop & Huginin Cove, August 26-30, 2020

My hope was to schedule my flight so it would be the last one of the day and fly back on the earliest flight to avoid human interactions as much as possible. Availability dictated that I would spent a night in Hancock and catch the earliest flight, instead. I got my bag packed and was sitting at jus...

Re: Agate Beach

Well, it turns out the plane was delayed getting to the island which lost me the extra time I would have needed to get to Agate Beach. Still had a great time, though. Thanks for the advice!

Re: Agate Beach

That all sounds reasonable. Thanks for the replies.

I was just hoping I could follow the shore and end up there without too much trouble.

I guess I’ll save Agate Beach for another trip when kayaks are on the itinerary.

Thanks again!

Agate Beach

There’s a place on the map, about a mile or two west of Huggnin Cove labeled Agate Beach. I’m curious if there is an unofficial trail or viable bushwhack to get there from Huggnin. Have any of you made it there? Is it worth a side trip if I have time? I’ll be hiking next week with no canoe or kayak....

Re: WIFI availability

The WiFi in Windigo was pretty poor recently. It wasn't password protected. I was able to use it to get a few text messages out. They don't want people using it while the store is open because they have limited bandwidth and they need it for their credit card machine. You can access the Rock Harbor ...

Re: How many days from Rock Harbor to Windigo and back?

Thanks Tightlines! I think that sounds like a much better pace. I tried building in a rest day as slop to make up for times we couldn't accomplish what we planned, but I think we may just use your itinerary. If we get to Windigo and decide we won't be able to make it back, we can always get the ferr...

Re: How many days from Rock Harbor to Windigo and back?

So, I'm trying to fit it all into an itinerary. Does this sound insane? 13th Arrive on IR Queen, then Rock Harbor to Daisy Farm (7.1 miles) 14th Daisy Farm to Todd Harbor (14.6 hard up and down miles) 15th Todd Harbor to Desor South (11.6 miles) 16th Desor South to Washington Creek (11.3 miles) 17th...
