Re: Trip plan for Minong trail
We were not given specific instructions on stoves during the LNT discussion so we assumed we could use them wherever we were.

Re: VII in Grand Portage and the Office is open
Total mileage was 84 according to the GPS. I was taken back by the diversity of the trails. Just amazing. Saw a moose going into North Desor.......first upload to YouTube so please let me know if not accessible.

Re: VII in Grand Portage and the Office is open
Great to meet you on the Minong this Saturday Kevin.
I would second all of Kevin's comments and add that Captain Benny was steering the VII on Saturday and this past Thursday for the way home. Captain Don was not on board for the Thursday trip. The four of us crossing the stream (river) near ...

If the VII had a live cam I would have gotten some popcorn and taken the day off!

Re: Boy Scout Trip
We did the Feldtman Loop with 3 adults and 7 scouts last year. The group sites were great and the scouts loved it.

Re: VII in Grand Portage and the Office is open
Leaving for the Minong on Saturday.......the only question I have is will Washington Harbor be accessible? Not that it matters much......anywhere on the island will work.

Re: Trip plan for Minong trail
Thanks......we are definitely willing to slow down if it is too much. Brings up another question though. If something did happen, is it possible to be picked up at McCargoe Cove or do you HAVE to be picked up at the destination you sign up for.....in this case RH?

Re: Trip plan for Minong trail
Thanks for starting this post Tree Ratt. Looks like a group of us are going to give the Minong a shot (starting from Windigo) if we can get to the island on May 17th. If I am reading the threads correctly......is it safe to assume the following?

Re: First Crew to head to IR Monday
Gimp......my experience on an LCM was in Panama too. I was in a light infantry unit (9th Regiment in the late 80s) and we hit the beach with that thing a couple of times. The only time I experienced sea sickness was in that boat. Brutal ride. I would rather do Green Hell all day long.
