thimbleberries are around all summer long but it may not seem like it. the plants are just really big and only get a couple of flowers so compared to raspberries or blueberries, you have to find a Lot of plants that are in the same fruiting phase.... which is time consuming. where i live they're ...

i was there for the entire summer in 2002. the busiest it ever got was in that time frame. there were over 100 people in rock harbor for dinner service one night. very busy compared to the rest of the summer but pretty dead compared to the other parks. course you have to consider it was a boat day ...

In Tom Powers' book on hiking Michigan's state and national parks, he states that few people come to Isle Royale on a whim. I am one of those few. I stayed in my '88 bronco ii for 3 rainy days before leaving copper harbor. the lake was flat and covered in fog. 4 hours later i saw tips of trees ...

you'll miss suzy's cave, which is a neat little spot.

passage island is awesome. there aren't any moose so the vascular flora is very diverse, even compared to the big island. i also saw eagles, rare butterflies like mitchell's satyr, and some strange frogs.
