That’s what I thought it’s actually .02 microns so I think I will stick with the platypus only it’s seems to have been sufficient for all these years although they say the cysts can take years to develop which is a little scary. But then again what isn’t scary these days!

Water treatment
Did I miss something noticed on park website today they are saying filtration AND chemical treatment for drinking water? We have been using a platypus for years 2 micron filtration thought that was sufficient. Just don’t remember both being recommended. Thoughts?

Closure of the Minong may be minor got a bad feeling about this virus rearing it’s ugly head again this park opening may be short lived. Hopefully not but the signs are not good, as a person with a September seaplane reservation it sucks but you have to look at the big picture and save lives. I hope ...

Not the earliest but the latest departure September 7 flight out departing September 18 first September trip normally go in May

Sounds encouraging I know the Seaplane service is taking reservations for trips starting June 27 hopefully it all works out going to be very quiet with only private boats and seaplanes bringing visitors especially in Rock Harbor a very unique time to visit the island if the virus stays tamped down ...

I could be dead wrong and totally crazy but Little Todd to Huginnin Cove would be a absolute death march I’ve done those trails but in much shorter segments Enjoy the trip with shorter segments that’s why you come back a second third fourth etc time!

Took the seaplane over last May and they have fuel on the Island as I remember you pay for it before leaving the mainland and it’s handed to you upon your arrival very convenient set up now I just hope it all works out have a reservation in September

Just read a post by Isle Royale Seaplanes they say planning is underway for flights to island mid summer into fall if virus conditions allow As the only commercial way to access the island people would be almost as rare as the wolves

Yes there was a adult on the nest also got off the nest and make a quick loop while I walked past going back. I ran onto a ranger on the way out and he told me about the nest he did see chicks in the nest think he had binoculars unfortunately I did not but the nest is quite close to the trail easy ...

Definitely do the Scoville point hike it’s beautiful and look for the Bald Eagle nest once you get on the final approach to the point it’s on the left fairly close to the trial. Just left the island on Memorial Day after 7 great days some cool days some warm days a few light showers weather wise. Best variety of wildlife ever for me in I think in 8 visits 4 moose 3 fox 2 bald eagles great nest on scoville point trail lots of hares and I think a wolf glimpse on that same ...
