Re: Fog?
Plan A: arrive at Rock Harbor, rent a canoe, paddle across Tobin Bay and hike to Lookout Louise. We couldn't go because the fog 'grounded' all canoes and boats. So, instead, we hiked Scoville trail. The fog was amazing. It would come in and completely hide the trail, the lake, the rocks...just every...

Re: Thanks for the Itinerary help
We did Mt Franklin in fog. MT Oijibway was clear and gorgeous. I have a fear of heights, but forced myself (step by step holding onto both rails) to the first observation level. It was so beautiful. I have to admit, I think the view from Lookout Louise is the best I've ever seen.

Thanks for the fishing information
My first trip to Isle Royale is complete; thanks for all the help for my nephew's fishing adventure. He caught a huge Northern Pike at Lake Ritchie. He didn't catch anything at Hidden Lake (we did see a young bull moose tho). It was indeed a trip to remember, and he is already planning another with ...

Re: First Time IR; need itinerary help
thanks Midwest Ed! I'll check with the lodge when we check-in. Trying to have the schedule (depending on the weather of course) in place (there's 4 of us and 1 of me doing the planning). You have all been so very helpful. Thanks.

Re: First Time IR; need itinerary help
can I use the MV Sandy on Saturday (the Rock Harbor Lighthouse cruise at 9:00) will they drop us off at Daisy Farm? We will need most of the day to hike. We arrive at noon on Thursday and leaving on QIV on Sunday at 2:45. Or, as you say, perhaps a water taxi.
